1. Writing the Goals

To get the writing of the Goals underway, the members present agreed to sign up for one of the subcommittees responsible for writing up a particular goal and that a dean would lead each subcommittee. After the signup sheets went around, faculty were assigned to the following subcommittees:

2. Tips and Aids for Writing

• The groups should review the Regents’ and the University’s strategic plans.
• Each dean should keep the others informed about the work on his committee.
• Where appropriate, external data should be sought and used.
• Dean Gabrielli will send out some web links that the subcommittees should find useful.

The ALC will reconvene at the end of fall semester to review the work of the subcommittees.
